Seven Colors of the Rainbow

The theory of the emotional spectrum: colors, axioms, and laws. From a symbolic map of emotions to the architecture of the human being — consciousness, spirit, soul, body. Published as is, without rewriting.

Seven colors of the rainbow

The seven colors of the rainbow (in the classical tradition):

  1. 🔴 Red
  2. 🟠 Orange
  3. 🟡 Yellow
  4. 🟢 Green
  5. 🔵 Light blue
  6. 🔷 Blue
  7. 🟣 Violet

Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain

In modern physics the rainbow is not seven colors but a continuous spectrum of wavelengths. The division into seven colors became popular largely thanks to Isaac Newton, who chose exactly seven colors in his effort to draw an analogy with the seven musical notes.

A symbolic map of emotions

If we regard the rainbow as a symbolic map of emotions, then the colors can be arranged as a path of development of the human condition — from basic needs to more complex experiences.

ColorEmotionsPossible virtueShadow (if the emotion falls out of balance)
🔴 RedBoldness, passion, resolveCourageAnger, aggression
🟠 OrangeJoy, pleasure, curiosityCreativityDependence, greed for pleasures
🟡 YellowConfidence, dignity, optimismSelf-respectPride, arrogance
🟢 GreenLove, compassion, acceptanceMercyJealousy, attachment
🔵 Light blueCalm, sincerity, trustHonestySuppression of feelings, fear of speaking
🔷 BlueWisdom, understanding, contemplationPrudenceDoubt, coldness
🟣 VioletReverence, inspiration, hopeHumilityWithdrawal from reality, spiritual pride

The path of the transformation of emotions:

  • 🔴 Fear turns into courage.
  • 🟠 The desire to possess — into creativity and the ability to share.
  • 🟡 Pride — into dignity without superiority over others.
  • 🟢 Selfish attachment — into love and care.
  • 🔵 Lies or silence out of fear — into sincerity.
  • 🔷 Knowledge for the sake of superiority — into wisdom.
  • 🟣 The striving for one's own exceptionalness — into humility and a sense of unity.

Thesis

The rainbow can be regarded as a natural symbolic model of the spectrum of a person's emotional states. Each color corresponds to a particular quality of emotional vibration, and the order of the colors reflects the direction of the possible transformation of emotional states — from basic survival reactions to more integrated states of consciousness. In this model emotions are not independent categories; they form a continuous spectrum in which some states are able to amplify, weaken, or transform others.

The theory of the emotional spectrum

The main hypothesis

Emotions are not separate states but manifestations of a single emotional spectrum, just as colors are manifestations of a single light.

Axiom 1. Unity

The entire emotional state of a person represents a single field. What we call separate emotions are merely stable regions of this field. Just as the rainbow seems divided into seven colors, though in reality it is a continuous spectrum.

Axiom 2. Continuity

Between any two emotions there is a transition. There is no absolute boundary between: fear → anxiety → caution → attention → interest → inspiration. We have simply grown used to giving names to certain points of the spectrum.

Axiom 3. The law of transformation

Emotions never disappear. They pass into one another:

fear ↓ anger ↓ boldness ↓ love ↓ compassion ↓ wisdom

Axiom 4. The law of governance

Each region of the spectrum influences the neighboring regions. But the influence is asymmetric. Love can transform fear. Fear almost never creates love directly. This means there exists a directionality of development.

Axiom 5. The law of resonance

People influence one another. When emotional states are close, interaction happens more easily. When they differ greatly — tension or mutual change arises.

Laws

Law I. The Law of Unity

In the Universe there exists a single emotional field. Each person does not create emotions but manifests certain regions of this field. As the eye perceives different wavelengths of light, so consciousness experiences various emotional states.

Law II. The Law of the Spectrum

All emotional states are arranged in a continuous order. What language calls separate emotions are only conventional names for sections of the spectrum. Love → compassion → trust → calm → confidence → boldness. And in reverse.

Law III. The Law of Dominance

At every moment in time there exists one prevailing region of the spectrum. It determines decisions, speech, attention, memory, the interpretation of events. We see the world through an emotional filter.

Law IV. The Law of Attraction

People tend to form stable bonds with people whose emotional spectra are compatible with or complement their own.

Law V. The Law of Transformation

Emotions are not destroyed. They are transformed: fear → caution → attention → understanding → trust → love.

Law VI. The Law of Integration

A person's development consists not in excluding any region of the spectrum. Development is the ability to use the whole spectrum consciously.

The law of emotional resonance

Consciousness changes its emotional state under the influence of resonance with external and internal vibrational structures. One of the most obvious of such structures is music.

Corollary:

Music does not create emotions but shifts a person into another region of the emotional spectrum.

The law of biological reflection

Hormones are not the root cause of emotions. They are a biological reflection or accompaniment of the organism's emotional state.

The sequence: Perception → emotional state → physiological response → hormonal changes → behavior.

The law of vibrational correspondence

Each region of the emotional spectrum corresponds to its own character of rhythm, tempo, harmony, and dynamics. Therefore music is able to move a person from one region of the spectrum to another through the phenomenon of emotional resonance.

Not seven emotions — but seven forces

A periodic system of emotions

Each emotion has: a spectral region; an intensity; a polarity; a stability; derivatives; conditions of arising; ways of transformation.

Fear — region: red; function: protection; amplified by the unknown; transformed into caution, anger, or flight.

Love — region: green; function: union; amplified by trust; transformed into care, compassion, self-sacrifice.

Enlightenment

Enlightenment is a qualitative transition of consciousness, in which a person ceases to be governed by their emotional spectrum and begins consciously to govern it.

Or more briefly:

Enlightenment is the transition from emotional reaction to emotional governance.

Level 1. Slave of emotions. Emotions determine thoughts, words, decisions, behavior. Consciousness merely justifies the decision already made by the emotions.

Level 2. Awareness. A person begins to notice: "Right now I am being governed by fear" or "Right now pride is speaking." The observer appears, but is still weak.

Level 3. Governance. "I feel fear. But I will not make the decision by fear." It is here that freedom begins.

Level 4. Enlightenment. Consciousness moves freely across the entire emotional spectrum. It does not suppress emotions — it uses them. Fear becomes caution. Anger becomes strength. Love becomes union. Sorrow becomes wisdom.

The law of freedom

The degree of a person's freedom is determined not by the absence of emotions, but by the degree of the ability to choose which region of the emotional spectrum will govern the next action.

A person is born a prisoner of their own emotional spectrum. The path of development consists not in getting rid of emotions, but in acquiring the ability to move freely across them. Enlightenment is the moment when consciousness becomes the conductor of its own emotional orchestra, rather than a musician forced to play the melody that the emotions dictate.

The architecture of the human being

Consciousness

Consciousness is the ability to direct attention within the stream of thoughts, sensations, and perception.

Consciousness in itself is not a thought. It chooses which thought to amplify.

Spirit

Spirit is the directing stream of consciousness, determining the vector of the personality's development and its ability to govern the emotional spectrum.

The function of the spirit: to choose a direction; to hold to a goal; to preserve inner unity.

Soul

Soul is the emotional field of a person, containing the whole spectrum of their experiences, values, attachments, and inner states.

Structure:

Spirit

Consciousness

Attention

Thoughts

Soul (the emotional field)

Emotions

Hormones

Body

Actions

The law of governance

The higher level is able to govern the lower, but not the reverse.

Spirit directs consciousness; consciousness directs attention; attention amplifies certain thoughts; thoughts change the emotional field; the emotional field influences physiology; physiology manifests in actions.

Human consciousness — the hands of the soul of the planet

Human consciousness is the hands of the soul of the planet. Through the consciousness of people the planet comes to know, changes, and expresses itself.

  • The planet — a single living system.
  • The soul of the planet — the common emotional field of life.
  • Human consciousness — the instrument of action and awareness of this soul.
  • The spirit of a person — the directing stream, determining how consciousness uses its freedom.
  • The soul of a person — a local manifestation of the emotional field.
  • The body — the material instrument of realization.

The evolution of a human being is not a separation from nature, but an ever more conscious participation in the consciousness of the planet. The higher a person's ability to govern their emotional spectrum, the more precisely they can act as a creative force rather than as a source of chaos.

We do not exist separately from the world. Each person is a point at which the Universe becomes aware of itself, and the Earth gains the ability to feel, think, and act. Our hands are the hands of the planet. Our decisions are its deeds. Our development consists in expressing the creative principle ever more precisely, rather than unconsciously following emotional impulses.

The chain: planet → the soul of the planet → human consciousness → attention → thoughts → the emotional spectrum → actions → change of the world.

What, then, is consciousness and where does it come from

Consciousness is not an object. Consciousness is the ability to direct attention. Not thoughts. Not emotions. Not memory. Precisely the ability to choose.

Then a question arises: Who chooses?

The primary source

Let us suppose there exists a single consciousness of the Universe. Let us call it Absolute Consciousness. It does not think in words. It does not experience human emotions. It simply possesses the ability to be aware.

From it arise the levels:

Absolute Consciousness

The consciousness of the Galaxy

The consciousness of the Solar System

The consciousness of the Earth

Human consciousness

Attention

Thoughts

Emotions

Body

Then the human being is not the source of consciousness, but a local point of manifestation of the single consciousness. Just as a brain cell does not create a person's reason — it participates in it.

Consciousness is not born inside the brain. The brain localizes and expresses consciousness in the same way that the eye localizes light, but does not create it.

Spirit is the individual vector of Absolute Consciousness (the direction of development). Soul is the memory of the emotional experience of consciousness (it stores not knowledge, but experiences).

Consciousness is aware. Spirit chooses a direction. Soul experiences. Body acts.

The Universe comes to know itself through consciousness, experiences itself through the soul, and changes itself through the body.

And who governs

Variant 1. Absolute Consciousness governs. Then the human being does not possess true freedom, but is an instrument. But this contradicts the idea of enlightenment, where a person learns to choose.

Variant 2. Spirit governs. Absolute Consciousness → Spirit → Consciousness → Attention → Thoughts → Soul → Emotions → Body. But then a question arises: who directs the spirit?

Variant 3. No one governs. There is no "one who governs." Governance is itself the fundamental property of consciousness. Consciousness is itself the act of choice.

Then one can formulate an axiom:

Consciousness is the primary principle of choice. It has no need of another that governs.

  • the body executes;
  • emotions motivate;
  • the soul experiences;
  • thoughts model;
  • attention singles out;
  • consciousness chooses;
  • spirit holds the direction of this choice.

Enlightenment is the moment when choice becomes fully conscious and ceases to be determined by automatic emotional reactions.

If one places yet another "governor" above consciousness, the next question inevitably arises: and who governs it? This leads to an infinite chain. But if consciousness is defined as the fundamental capacity for conscious choice, the chain naturally ends at this level. This makes the model considerably more coherent as a philosophical system.
